Vast Resources PLC - mine development company with interests in Romania, Tajikistan and Zimbabwe - Mines 24,178 tonnes of copper a its Baita Plai polymetallic mine in Romania, with a copper concentrate grade of 18% in the fourth quarter of 2023. This is a 39% increase from 17,343 tonnes in the corresponding quarter the year before, but says the copper concentrate grade was lower in 2023 from 23% in 2022. ‘As expected, the average copper concentrate grade decreased during the quarter due to the area that was being mined. However, subsequent to the period end, the quality of concentrate has improved as the company begins to access higher grade zones,’ it says.
