Smith & Nephew CFO designate John Rogers to start next week

ALN

Smith & Nephew PLC on Thursday confirmed that incoming Chief Financial Officer John Rogers will officially start the role on April 1.

The London-based medical technology company first announced Rogers’ appointment back in November.

Rogers first joined as CFO-designate on December 1 and following a period of induction, will be officially join the board as CFO, Smith & Nephew said.

He will be replacing CFO Anne-Francoise Nesmes, whose departure was announced in August. Her last day will be March 31.

Reasons for her departure have not been disclosed, but last month, she was appointed to the board of Sanofi SA as an independent non-executive director, with effect from April 30.

Rogers was most recently CFO at WPP PLC, where he ‘successfully led the implementation of their global transformation programme’. This was after serving as CFO at J Sainsbury PLC.

Shares in Smith & Nephew were down 3.0% to 1,012.00 pence each in London on Thursday morning.
