ALN

Caledonia Mining Corp PLC on Monday named James Mufara as its new chief operating officer, effective from May 1.

Caledonia Mining is a gold producer, and its main asset is the Blanket Mine in Zimbabwe.

Mufara was previously at Harmony Gold Mining Company Ltd where, as regional general manager, he headed a portfolio of operations consisting of 5 mines and 15,000 staff.

‘I am delighted James will soon be starting his new role at Caledonia. He will be joining us at a pivotal moment in Caledonia’s development and I know the team will benefit from his wealth of experience. I very much look forward to working with him,’ said Chief Executive Officer Mark Learmonth.

Caledonia Mining shares were trading 2.7% higher at 867.50 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.
