Arc Minerals teases progress in Africa as rainy season comes to an end

ALN

Arc Minerals Ltd on Thursday celebrated progress across its African operations, with work beginning in Zambia, and the first phase of a drill programme due to start in Botswana.

According to the copper exploration company, which is focused on mines in Africa, its joint venture partner has started work in Zambia following the end of the rainy season. The work programme, it explained, will include core diamond drilling, initially at two identified targets.

Meanwhile, in Botswana, a survey over copper targets in PL 135/2017 should complete by next week. Following that, the first phase of a 2,000 metre reverse circulation drill programme should start this quarter.

‘We are thrilled to be commencing drilling activities imminently in both Zambia and Botswana, following a lengthy rainy season in North West Zambia,’ said Executive Chair Nick von Schirnding.

‘Extensive studies have been carried out on the stratigraphic hole which was completed by our joint venture partner in December 2023, providing valuable insights and geological data of the deeper part of the Kabompo basin.’

Shares in Arc Minerals were down 5.9% at 1.65 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon.
