Sound Energy demobilises rig in Morocco in preparation for production

ALN

Sound Energy PLC on Tuesday said that it has released and demobilised the Star Valley Rig 101, having conducted planned work over operations at its site in Tendrara, Morocco.

The Moroccan-focused upstream energy company demobilised the rig in preparation for long term gas production into the micro liquefied natural gas plant currently under construction.

Sound Energy has pulled the existing completion tubing in TE-6 and TE-7, which are wells at the site, and run new corrosion resistant completion tubing into TE-6. This is now available to supply gas to commission the plant, for which construction is expected to complete later this year.

The rig is currently stacked at the TE-7 site, at no on-going cost to the company.

Shares in Sound Energy were trading 1.2% higher at 0.96 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
