Ryanair Holdings PLC on Tuesday hailed record monthly passenger figures, while Wizz Air Holdings PLC reported a slight increase in passenger numbers.

The Dublin-based airline said it recorded a record 19.3 million passengers in June, up 11% from 17.4 million a year prior, with the load factor remaining at 95%.

In the 12 months to the end of June, Ryanair had 188.8 million recorded passengers, up 8.9% from 173.4 million a year prior, with the load factor flat at 94%.

Meanwhile, Budapest-based Wizz Air recorded 5.79 million passengers in June, up 0.4% from 5.76 million in June 2023, with the load factor edging down to 91.7% from 92.2%.

Over a 12 month period including June, passenger Wizz passenger figures grew 14% on-year to 68.9 million from 60.5 million, with the load factor up at 90.1% from 89.4%.

Ryanair shares were 0.7% lower at €16.07 each on Wednesday morning in Dublin, while Wizz Air shares fell 2.3% to 2,100.80 pence each in London.
