Petards awarded £500,000 contract from UK train builder

Petards Group PLC on Friday said it secured a new order from a UK customer for its train surveillance systems.

The Guildford, England-based company is a developer of advanced security, communication, and surveillance systems.

Through its Petards Joyce-Loebl Ltd subsidiary, the company has won a contract worth more than £500,000 to supply a UK train builder with its eyeTrain systems.

‘The orders are for the supply Petards eyeTrain forward facing and track debris camera systems to enhance the video and data collection capability of additional trains within an existing fleet. This forms part of an extension to a significant upgrade programme undertaken by one of the UK’s leading rolling stock owners,’ Petards said.

Activities and preliminary equipment supply will begin in late 2024 with main deliveries scheduled for completion during the first half of 2025.

Petards shares were down 6.7% at 7.00 pence each in London on Friday afternoon.
