Essentra hires Rowan Baker from Laing O’Rourke to be CFO

ALN

Essentra PLC on Tuesday announced that ‘highly experienced’ finance executive Rowan Baker will succeed CFO Jack Clarke, who is retiring to become a Catholic Church deacon.

Oxford, England-based Essentra makes manufactures and distributes plastic injection moulded, vinyl dip moulded, and metal components.

Baker, who is currently the chief financial officer of Dartford, Kent-based construction company Laing O’Rourke PLC, will replace Clarke with effect from November 5.

Baker joined Laing O’Rourke as CFO in 2020, prior to which she worked at McCarthy & Stone PLC from 2012 and became CFO in 2017. She also is a non-executive director at FTSE 100-listed housebuilder Vistry Group PLC.

‘I am delighted to join Essentra, and I look forward to working with Scott and the board in enhancing growth initiatives, supporting operational effectiveness and making continued progress on strategic objectives,’ Baker commented.

Chief Executive Officer Scott Fawcett, meanwhile, said: ‘Rowan is a highly experienced chief financial officer. I am delighted she is joining the board and the company as her financial expertise and PLC experience will further support the delivery of our growth strategy...I would also like to thank Jack for his contribution to successfully establishing Essentra as a pure play components business.’

Shares in Essentra were down 0.3% at 162.80 pence on Tuesday morning in London.
