Aberdeen Group PLC - Edinburgh-based asset manager - The company’s new name - complete with both vowels and capital letters - is registered with UK Companies House on Wednesday. When Aberdeen earlier this month first announced plans to change its name from ’abrdn’, it showed the new name as ’aberdeen group’. On Thursday, Aberdeen says its new name is ’Aberdeen Group’, while its brand is ’aberdeen’. The financial firm attracted much market ridicule for changing its name to abrdn from Standard Life Aberdeen back in 2021. Chief Executive Officer Jason Windsor, in announcing the latest name change, said it was aimed at ‘removing distractions’, but the lack of capitalisation attracted yet more jests. Aberdeen made no further comment on the name change on Thursday. The company’s ticker remains ABDN, and its ISIN number is unchanged.
