Pershing Square names Denton senior director as Curtis exits board

ALN

Pershing Square Holdings Ltd on Friday said Charlotte Denton will become senior independent director, replacing Bronwyn Curtis, who is stepping down from the board at the company’s annual general meeting on May 1.

The investment trust led by Bill Ackman that focuses on acquiring and holding significant positions in large capitalisation companies said Curtis, who has served on the board for seven years, will not stand for re-election. Her replacement, Denton, will assume the senior role subject to her re-election at the AGM.

The firm also said it will propose the appointment of Jean-Baptiste Wautier as an independent non-executive director. Wautier is co-founder of the Wautier Family Office Ltd and currently chairs luxury fashion house Gedebe. He previously served as UK chief investment officer at BC Partners LPP and brings experience in private equity and corporate finance.

Chair Rupert Morley said: ‘The board is pleased to recommend that shareholders elect Jean-Baptiste to the PSH board. His extensive experience& will provide valuable perspectives to the board.’

He also thanked Curtis and former board member Tope Lawani for their service, saying their ‘dedication and insight have been instrumental.’

Pershing Square continues its search for additional directors and expects to appoint another board member later in 2025.

Other resolutions at the AGM will include approval of the 2024 accounts, a renewal of the share buy-back authority, re-appointment of the auditor, and approval to disapply pre-emption rights on up to 10% of share issuance.

Shares in Pershing Square were down 1.8% at 3,342.00 pence in London on Friday afternoon.
