Marula Mining completes wet commissioning at Kilifi manganese plant

ALN

Marula Mining PLC on Friday said it has completed wet commissioning of the Kilifi manganese processing plant in Kenya.

The London-based mining company with projects in South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania said that dry-commissioning and pre-operational testing, final upgrades and modifications of the plant have also been completed.

It said the wet commissioning process was overseen by Zegatron Engineering Solutions Ltd, which completed all the fabrication, installation, modifications and optimisation work on the site.

Marula said its on-site management team will now start to increase throughput at the plant through the initial operational phase of the manganese processing operations.

It will aim to achieve the budgeted production and sales for the current quarter.

The company said it remains on target to start the first manganese sales in May.

Shares in Marula Mining closed up 6.4% to €0.042 in London on Friday afternoon.
