Cordel inks DG8 deal to supply technology for Network Rail project

ALN

Cordel Group PLC on Monday said it has secured a contract with Derby, England-based DG8 Design and Engineering Ltd, which will see it ‘deliver AI-enriched insights for Network Rail.’

The London-based company whose flagship platform uses artificial intelligence to supply transport corridor analytics said the contract will see it supply DG8 with two sets of its Wave 32 Rugged Lidar and AI technology units.

These will be deployed onto two new Class 153 visual inspection units as part of a new integration for Network Rail.

Cordel noted that it provide autonomous data capture and upload addressing higher risk locations, with engineers able to access Lidar and video through its Cordel Connect data management platform.

It added that, through this platform, it will create AI-enhanced outputs for Network Rail routes and regions to purchase.

Shares in Cordel were up 3.9% at 6.50 pence on Monday afternoon in London.

Cordel Chief Executive John Davis said: ‘We are delighted to engage with DG8 in the provision of railway infrastructure monitoring services. Cordel will build on the Class 153 data captures to deliver AI-enriched insights for Network Rail. The DG8 contract enables us to show the value of integrating Cordel technology onto the Class 153s, so we can deliver joined-up datasets via the Cordel Connect platform.’
