Kromek wins $900,000 orders for D3 radiation detectors

ALN

Kromek Group PLC on Wednesday said it received two new orders for its D3 series of radiation detectors, worth a combined $900,000, from customers in Europe and the US.

The Sedgefield, England-based detection technology supplier said the orders are for immediate delivery. The unnamed European customer works on civilian science and technology partnerships to mitigate global chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear security risks. The US customer is a supplier of defence and security products.

The D3 series detectors will enhance both customers’ capabilities in detecting radiation, gathering and processing data, and enabling real-time transmission to support national safety efforts, Kromek said.

‘We are pleased to announce the receipt of these new orders that underscore our continued commitment to providing advanced detection solutions for emergency response services,’ said Chief Executive Officer Arnab Basu. ‘These orders reflect the increasing trust in our innovative technologies and further solidify Kromek’s position as a leading provider in the critical security market.’

Kromek added that demand for its detection solutions continues to grow amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty.

Shares in Kromek were up 7.2% to 6.27 pence in London on Wednesday afternoon.
