Kitwave Group PLC on Monday said it has appointed the former chief executive officer of soft drinks manufacturer Nichols PLC, Marnie Millard, as non-executive chair. The North Shields, England-based food wholesaler said Millard replaces Steve Smith, who resigned as a director upon the appointment. Millard is currently serving as chair of Leicester, England-based electrical products retailer Marks Electrical Group PLC. Millard is also non-executive chair of University Academy 92 Ltd and MyPura.com Ltd. She joined the board of Liverpool, England-based sports nutrition company Applied Nutrition PLC ahead of its listing last year and continues to serve as a senior independent director. Millard was CEO of Lancashire, England-based Nichols for eight years. Kitwave Chief Executive Officer Ben Maxted said: ‘On behalf of everyone at Kitwave, I am delighted to welcome Marnie to the board as our new chair. We believe that her experience and expertise will be of huge value as we continue to drive our growth strategy and enhance our customer offering.’ Shares in Kitwave were up 1.9% at 321.00 pence in London on Monday afternoon.
