Keller taps Wincanton’s Wroath for CEO as Michael Speakman steps down

ALN

Keller Group PLC on Tuesday said Chief Executive Officer Michael Speakman will step down on August 18 to continue with his medical treatment, to be replaced by James Wroath, who was most recently CEO of supply chain logistics specialist Wincanton PLC.

The London-based geotechnical engineering company said in May that Speakman was undergoing ‘necessary medical treatment’ but would continue in his role.

After stepping down in August, Speakman will remain employed by Keller on an advisory basis.

Keller said Wroath’s selection follows a ‘comprehensive search process’.

‘The board is confident that he will provide strong leadership and strategic direction as the group continues to deliver its successful growth strategy,’ Keller added.

Chair Carl-Peter Forster commented: ‘Michael steps down with the group in a strong financial and operational position to continue to pursue its growth opportunities ahead. We wish Michael our very best as he continues his medical treatment.

‘James is a proven FTSE CEO and successfully led Wincanton through a period of cultural and operational transformation, leading to the recent sale to GXO Logistics. He brings a strong track record of leading improved performance in geographically dispersed contracting businesses.’

Shares in Keller were down 0.9% at 1,468.00 pence in London on Tuesday morning.
