SMALL-CAP WINNERS: AEW UK celebrates ‘strong performance’ in FY25

ALN

The following stocks are the leading risers among London Main Market small-caps on Friday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Majedie Investments PLC, up 1.6% at 248.00 pence, 12-month range 219p-280p. The long-term capital growth-focused investor announces that its manager, Marylebone Partners LLP, is in advanced discussions to join investment management and strategic advisory firm Brown Advisory. Says that if completed, such a deal would be a positive development for Majedie and its shareholders. In this scenario, the Marylebone team would move to Brown and maintain responsibility for managing Majedie’s portfolio. ‘The board does not anticipate a material impact on Majedie’s NAV arising from its interest in Marylebone,’ the company adds.

----------

Social Housing REIT PLC, up 1.4% at 70.40p, 12-month range 55p-73.5p. The specialised supported housing-focused investment trust announces that Fitch Ratings Ltd has reaffirmed its existing Investment Grace with an ’A-’ long-term Issuer Default Rating and an ’A’ senior secured rating for its existing loan notes. Adds: ‘The outlook remains negative, reflecting the pending resolution of two tenant-related challenges, and may be revised to stable upon resolution.’

----------

AEW UK REIT PLC, up 0.4% at 105.60p, 12-month range 85.3p-106.1p. The commercial property-focused real estate investor reports a net asset value of 110.11 pence per share as of March 31, up 7.2% from 102.73p one year prior. For the year ended March 31, it delivers a positive 15.29% NAV total return, against the previous year’s 4.98% return. The property total return was positive 14.8%, beating the MSCI benchmark’s 7.4%. Dividends for the year total 8p per share, unchanged on-year. AEW Chair Robin Archibald says this amount ‘has now been paid for the ninth consecutive full year since inception’. Archibald comments: ‘We are very pleased with the strong performance across the portfolio, which evidences the effectiveness of the company’s active and sector-agnostic strategy and its ability to enhance shareholder value through active management...AEW is enthusiastic about the current opportunities in the UK market and believes that now is an excellent time to deploy capital.’
