Serica says output to resume at Triton after ‘extensive repairs’

ALN

Serica Energy PLC on Monday said production will resume at the Triton asset in the North Sea, following maintenance work.

The maintenance work is expected to ‘improve operational performance’ at the Triton floating production storage and offloading unit. The North Sea-focused oil and gas producer said there are no further planned outages for the Triton FPSO in the remainder of the year.

Production at the asset was suspended earlier this year following damage after Storm Eowyn in January.

‘The Triton FPSO was delivering 25,000 boepd net to Serica immediately prior to the shutdown. This figure has the potential to be boosted through the addition of production from two new wells,’ Serica said.

‘During the shutdown, extensive repairs to the inert gas marine system were completed, with over 100 components on the system either replaced or refurbished. Topside modifications were made in readiness to accept the start of production from the Belinda field expected in early 2026, significant safety critical maintenance work was also undertaken on the firewater system, and valves and sections of pipework across the FPSO were replaced. With work now complete, the normal start-up sequence has begun.’

Serica has a 46% stake in Triton. Operator Dana Petroleum Ltd owns 52% and Waldorf Production UK Ltd owns the remainder.

Serica shares were 5.0% higher at 160.00 pence each in London on Monday morning.
