Ireland’s harmonised consumer price inflation rate is expected to have picked up in June, preliminary data published by the Central Statistics Office showed Monday. The country’s annual harmonised consumer price inflation rate is anticipated to have accelerated to 1.6% in June from 1.4% in May. The harmonised calculation allows for EU-wide comparison. Consumer prices are expected to have climbed 0.5% on a harmonised basis in June from May. In May, prices had been flat from April. Separately, CSO reported that the volume of retail sales was down 0.6% monthly in May, after growth of 1.0% in April. On-year, the volume of retail sales rose 1.6% in May, slowed from 2.8% in April.
