Guaranty Trust Holding starts trading on Main Market in London

ALN

Guaranty Trust Holding Co PLC on Wednesday started trading on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange.

The Lagos, Nigeria-based banking franchise said 36.43 billion shares have been admitted as a secondary listing. The company is listed on the Lagos-based Nigerian Stock Exchange since June 2021.

Last week Thursday, Guaranty Trust launched an offering of 2.29 billion new ordinary shares, with which it raised $105 million via shares at a reference price of NGN70.00 each, or 4.59 US cents.

The company last week said it aimed to raise the money in a bid to enhance its global visibility and support recapitalisation efforts in light of new requirements by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Guaranty Trust shares rose 9.5% to $3.00 each on Wednesday afternoon in London, from $2.74 on the close on Tuesday, giving it a market capitalisation of £1.38 billion.
