Guaranty Trust Holding Co PLC on Wednesday started trading on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. The Lagos, Nigeria-based banking franchise said 36.43 billion shares have been admitted as a secondary listing. The company is listed on the Lagos-based Nigerian Stock Exchange since June 2021. Last week Thursday, Guaranty Trust launched an offering of 2.29 billion new ordinary shares, with which it raised $105 million via shares at a reference price of NGN70.00 each, or 4.59 US cents. The company last week said it aimed to raise the money in a bid to enhance its global visibility and support recapitalisation efforts in light of new requirements by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Guaranty Trust shares rose 9.5% to $3.00 each on Wednesday afternoon in London, from $2.74 on the close on Tuesday, giving it a market capitalisation of £1.38 billion.
