Prudential PLC has started to look for a successor for Chair Shriti Vadera, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday. Vadera, a City veteran and former UK government minister, has been chair of the London-based, Asia-focused insurance company since the start of 2021 and can remain in post until 2030. While she is not expected to leave the Prudential board imminently, the newspaper said, Prudential has engaged recruitment firm Spencer Stuart to find an eventual replacement. Vadera was among the people approached to be the next chair of similarly Asia-focused HSBC Holdings PLC, but ruled herself out of the role at the bank, the FT said, citing ‘people familiar with the situation’. Prudential shares were up 0.6% to 923.40 pence early Wednesday in London. Copyright 2025 Alliance News Ltd. All Rights Reserved.
