EnSilica opens mixed-signal design centre in Budapest

ALN

EnSilica PLC on Tuesday said it has opened a new mixed-signal design centre in Budapest, as part of its strategy to expand its European Union footprint and boost design capacity.

The Oxford, England-based computer chip maker said the facility will focus on developing advanced mixed-signal solutions for industrial and automotive applications. It will also provide additional EU-based design resources to support recent contract wins and a strong pipeline of opportunities.

By the end of September, the Budapest team is expected to comprise 16 engineers, many with 10 to 20 years of experience in mixed-signal chip design. The expansion will lift EnSilica’s global headcount to around 210.

Chief Executive Officer Ian Lankshear said Budapest had ‘rapidly become a key technology hub in the EU’ and the move would help the company ‘capitalise on exciting near-term growth opportunities’.

Shares in EnSilica were up 3.1% at 47.96 pence at midday in London.
