Light Science Technologies inks contracts worth around £500,000

ALN

Light Science Technologies Holdings PLC on Friday reported progress with its Consumer Electronics Manufacturing division, as it signed three contracts, comprising a mix of new business and re-tendered agreements.

The Derbyshire, England-based provider of lighting, science and plant monitoring solutions said the contracts are worth approximately £500,000. The new contract is worth around £300,000, said Light Science Technologies, with the re-tendered contracts amounting to around £200,000.

The company said the initial contract is for a new Sweden-based client that provides upgraded lighting circuitry for use on a ‘major UK transport network.’ It expects deliveries for this contract to begin in October, continuing over the course of the next financial year.

Light Science Technologies added that there is follow-on revenue potential with this contract.

Deliveries for the contracts that have been re-tendered with existing clients are anticipated to commence this financial year, said the company, with the two new orders expected to be fulfilled by the end of October next year.

Light Science Technologies noted that the value of the forward order book for the Consumer Electronics Manufacturing division is now greater than £2.5 million.

Shares in the company were trading flat at 3.20 pence around midday on Friday in London.

‘We are delighted to share the positive progress in our CEM division with a new client win and two follow-on contract wins. We are highly focused on converting our quoted pipeline and are continuing to progressively re-position the CEM division into key growth markets which include transport, defence and the medical sectors,’ said Chief Executive Simon Deacon.

‘In particular, we are excited to be providing turnkey solutions for this prestigious new customer based in Sweden, also demonstrating the potential for further international growth and further de-risking the CEM division as we continue to diversify,’ added Deacon.
