Health monitoring app MedPal AI rises as shares start trading on AIM

ALN

Shares in MedPal AI PLC traded more than 50% above their initial public offering price, as the digital health started trading on the AIM market.

London-based MedPal provides an app that aggregates health data from smartphones and wearable devices to provide AI-generated wellness support for users.

The company raised £2.0 million in its IPO from a institutional placing and retail offer at 4 pence per share, giving it an opening market capitalisation of £16.5 million, as planned.

MedPal shares last traded at 6.35p early Tuesday in London.

‘This is a key step to scaling up AI and machine learning insights from aggregated real-time health data that will provide wellbeing monitoring, lifestyle advice, and recommended bio-hacks,’ Chief Executive Officer Jason Drummond said of the AIM listing.

MedPal recently signed an agreement with Epassi UK Ltd, granting the administrator of employee benefits for corporate clients an exclusive right to offer the MedPal app to its clients.

MedPal said it intends to pursue business-to-business opportunities by licensing its platform to healthcare providers, businesses, and insurance firms.

CEO Jason Drummond previously co-founded online payments firm FairFX Group PLC, now Equals Group Ltd. The company also is led by Executive Director Justin Drummond, who co-founded Gaming Corp PLC. The two are brothers.

Non-Executive Chair Karl Karlsson is a general partner at Sway Ventures, a US-based venture capital firm investing in technology companies.
