Journeo shares climb as sees extra revenue from First Bus extension

ALN

Journeo PLC on Monday said it has extended a contract with First Bus UK which should generate an additional £3.5 million in revenue.

The Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire-based provider of information systems and technical services to transport operators and local authorities announced the £10 million First Bus UK framework agreement in May. It runs for three-years through to March 2028.

First Bus is part of FirstGroup PLC, a transport group headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Shares in FirstGroup were up 0.9% at 223.60p.

Under the revised deal, Journeo will install technology and provide engineering services across the recently acquired bus fleet of First Bus London.

The variation agreement is expected to generate an additional £3.5 million in revenue, with an option to extend the term by a further two-years through to March 2030.

Journeo will provide its latest 5G vehicle gateway and its software-as-a-service solution. In addition, Journeo will supply digital CCTV solutions and its digital wing mirror technology on new vehicles entering the fleet. It will offer service maintenance across all vehicles.

Chief Executive Russ Singleton said: ‘We are delighted to extend our relationship with First Bus into London and are excited to be part of the journey they are taking as they expand their operations and accelerate towards decarbonised public transport.’

Monday’s news represents the latest contract success for the UK-listed firm.

Also in May, Journeo announced a £4.2 million rail systems purchase order from France’s Alstom SA, while in July it won a £1.2 million contract with Umove, Denmark’s largest privately owned public transport operator.

Shares in Journeo rose 7.7% to 434.00 pence each in London on Monday. They have increased by 38% in the last 12 months.
