The UK Competition & Markets Authority on Monday said it has launched a merger inquiry into the planned acquisition by Norcros PLC of Norway’s Fibo Holding AS. Norcros is a Cheshire, England-based supplier of bathroom and kitchen products in the UK, Ireland and South Africa. Oslo-based Fibo is a supplier of waterproof, decorative wall panels. Back in July, Norcros said it agreed to buy Fibo from FSN Capital for up to NOK618 million, around £45 million. At that time, the UK’s market watchdog said it was considering whether the merger could result in reduced competition in the UK, and invited comments from ‘interested parties’ until July 30. The UK CMA on Monday said it has now officially launched its merger inquiry into the transaction, setting a deadline of November 3 for its phase one decision. Shares in Norcros were up 0.6% at 265.50 pence on Monday morning in London. Copyright 2025 Alliance News Ltd. All Rights Reserved.
