IN BRIEF: Hammerson taps Rob Wilkinson as CEO from January 1

ALN

Hammerson PLC - London-based real estate investment trust focused on city-centre shopping centres in the UK and elsewhere - Appoints Rob Wilkinson as the new chief executive officer. Wilkinson will join the board on December 15, 2025 as CEO-designate, and will take up his role as CEO from January 1, 2026. He will succeed Rita-Rose Gagne, who in June informed the board of her intention to retire in 2026 after five years at the helm. ‘Rita-Rose will continue to lead the business during 2025 and ensure an orderly transfer of her responsibilities, before stepping down as CEO and from the Board on 31 December 2025,’ the company says.

Wilkinson has been the CEO of AEW Europe for over 11 years. He was previously a non-executive director at Grainger PLC, and has served on the board of Derwent London PLC since 2024. ‘Through a rigorous recruitment process, Rob stood out from a strong field of candidates as someone who was able to translate strategic insight into shareholder value creation through exceptional leadership,’ Hammerson Chair Robert Noel says.
