Flutter Entertainment hires Imperial Brands’ Bomhard as non-executive

ALN

Flutter Entertainment PLC on Friday announced the appointment of Stefan Bomhard, the outgoing chief executive of Imperial Brands PLC, as a non-executive director.

New York-based bookmaker Flutter, whose brands include Betfair and Paddy Power, said Bomhard’s appointment is effective from October 1.

Bristol, England-based tobacco products manufacturer Imperial announced in mid-May that Bomhard, after five years as CEO, would be stepping down from the role to be succeeded on October 1 by Chief Financial Officer Lukas Paravicini. He will continue to serve on the board until the end of this year and remain available for transition support until May.

‘[Bomhard] has held several senior executive positions across a number of industries,’ Flutter said, noting that his former roles include serving as CEO of Inchcape PLC and that he is currently a non-executive director at Compass Group PLC.

Flutter’s Chair John Bryant commented: ‘Following an extensive search as part of our on-going Board renewal process, I am delighted to welcome Stefan as a non-executive director. Stefan has significant experience working in international environments, particularly in the operation, sales and marketing of well-known consumer brands.’

Shares in Flutter were up 1.0% at 21,390.00 pence in London on Friday afternoon. Imperial Brands shares were 0.5% higher at 3,200.95p.
