Craneware ups dividend as annual profit jumps; hails US market

ALN

Craneware PLC on Monday said innovation will sharply impact US healthcare operations, driving demand and expanding the firm’s addressable market, as it posted a profit surge.

The Edinburgh, Scotland-based software solutions provider said pretax profit jumped 52% to $24.0 million in the financial year ended June 30, from $15.7 million.

Revenue from contracts with customers climbed 8.7% to $205.7 million from $189.3 million.

Cost of sales decreased 2.5% to $26.4 million from $27.1 million, while operating costs increased 7.7% to $151.8 million from $141.0 million.

Craneware recommended a final dividend of 18.5 pence per share, up 16% from 16.0p. This would bring the total payout to 32.0p, up 10% from 29.0p.

Looking ahead, the company said trading in the first months of the new financial year started well, citing confidence in continued growth acceleration.

Further, it said it has the proprietary data, expertise, and customer base to play a central role in the transformation of the US healthcare business, adding that innovation will ‘profoundly’ impact US healthcare operations, which will drive demand and expand the firm’s addressable market.

Craneware shares were 1.8% higher at 2,310.00 pence each on Monday morning in London.
