Invinity Energy sells vanadium flow batteries to Ideona subsidiary

ALN

Invinity Energy Systems PLC on Thursday reported the sale of four megawatt-hours worth of VS3 vanadium flow batteries to Ideona Group subsidiary, Central European Vanadium Storage Kft.

The London-based manufacturer of utility-grade energy storage systems said the batteries will be utilised for two separate solar plus storage projects in Hungary. It added that the sale marks Invinity’s second product order from Ideona, its regional partner.

Ideona is a Hungarian renewable energy project developer.

Invinity Energy said two megawatt-hours of energy storage is set to be deployed at each site to stabilise solar output and offer flexibility to local grid networks.

Shipping is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of this year, with Invinity having now received final notice to proceed from Ideona.

Shares in Invinity Energy were down 0.9% at 21.30 pence on Thursday afternoon in London.

‘We’re very pleased to have reached financial close on another sale in the Hungarian market alongside our partner Ideona, who have again chosen our VS3 product as most appropriate for the size and delivery timescale of this project,’ said Invinity President Matt Harper.

‘This is further validation of the tremendous capabilities our vanadium flow batteries can deliver alongside grid-connected solar generation. The Hungarian energy storage market remains an exciting growth area for Invinity, and we look forward to delivering this project as a step towards further expansion in the region,’ continued Harper.
