Baronsmead Venture Trust PLC - UK-focused venture capital trust managed by Gresham House PLC - net asset value advances 6.9% in its first quarter that ended June 30 to 52.8 pence per share, from 49.4p at March 31. Reports NAV total return of 3.9% and says the quoted portfolio and Equity Funds rose 11.1%, with value of the unquoted portfolio up 2.2%. Adds that UK small caps performed well as they outperformed large cap stocks. ‘On aggregate, we observed strong operating performance from our investee companies in terms of earnings growth and cash generation, some of which re-rated during the period, notably in Property Franchise Group and Netcall,’ the trust commented.
