EARNINGS: Uru Metals and Atlas narrows loss; Bezant swings to profit

ALN

The following is a round-up of earnings for London-listed companies, issued on Tuesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Uru Metals Ltd - mineral exploration & development company - Reports net loss for the year ended March 31 narrowing sharply to $832,000 from $5.9 million the year before, as exploration expenditure and impairment of intangible assets drop to $162,000 from $5.1 million. Basic and diluted loss per share reduces to $0.02 from $0.11. Ends year with $14,000 in cash, down from $190,000. Says it awaits approval of a Mining Right from South Africa’s Department of Mineral Resources, the final regulatory step needed to advance Zeb Nickel into mine development. Notes airborne geophysical surveys, drilling and geochemical analysis confirmed high-grade nickel-copper-PGE sulphide horizons, strengthening the geological model. ‘With the mining right approval pending, the company is moving steadily toward its objective of establishing Zeb Nickel as a world-class supplier of critical metals essential to the renewable energy and battery storage sectors,’ says Non-Executive Chair Kyle Appleby.

----------

Atlas Metals Group PLC - natural resources and energy investor formerly known as MetalNRG - Reports no revenue for the six months to June 30, unchanged from a year before. Pretax loss narrows to £620,211 from £1.3 million. Basic and diluted loss per share widens to 4.93 pence from 0.09p, reflecting the December 2024 share consolidation. Notes disposal of Gold Ridge Investment for $550,000. Post period-end, enters conditional agreement to acquire Universal Pozzolanic Silica Alumina Ltd.

----------

Rome Resources PLC - mineral explorer with tin project in Democratic Republic of the Congo - Reports no revenue for the six months to June 30, unchanged year-on-year. Pretax loss widens to £560,000 from £214,000. Administrative expenses more than double to £578,000 from £214,000. Says 5,143 metres drilled at Mont Agoma and Kalayi prospects in eastern DRC, providing sufficient data to undertake maiden mineral resource estimates, expected by mid-October. CEO Paul Barrett says tin, copper, zinc and silver are all heavily represented in Mont Agoma and will form an integral part of the resource going forward.

----------

NAV total return for the half year is 13.4%, compared with 8.7% a year earlier. Ordinary share price total return around 30%. Declares dividends 4.53p per share, in the first half, unchanged. Expects to pay a quarterly dividend of 2.265p per share in November. NAV total return per share negative 10.9%, compared with negative 7.1% a year earlier. Chair Ian Nolan notes subdued wind conditions, ‘below-average solar irradiation’ and lower European electricity prices, alongside higher costs, as drivers of the decline. Says active asset sale processes are ongoing as part of the company’s managed wind-down strategy.

----------

Phoenix Copper Ltd - US-focused base and precious metals producer and explorer - Reports pretax loss of $706,776 for the six months to June 30, narrowing from $1.1 million a year earlier. Chair Marcus Edwards-Jones highlights higher copper, gold and silver prices, saying they have boosted the Empire open-pit life-of-mine cash flow by more than $80 million. He adds: ‘Negotiations to place additional corporate copper bonds to raise the necessary finance appear to be nearing completion.’

----------

Bezant Resources PLC - copper and gold exploration company with projects in Africa, South America and the Philippines - Reports pretax profit of £4.1 million for the six months to June 30, swinging from a £487,000 loss a year prior, driven by a £4.1 million gain from the IDM International Ltd merger with Blackstone Minerals Ltd.
