Vodafone Group PLC on Wednesday announced a strategic procurement partnership with Fornebu, Norway-based telecommunications firm Telenor Group. Vodafone, a Berkshire, England-based telecommunications provider, said the agreement is between the two companies’ global procurement organisations, Vodafone Procurement Co and Telenor Procurement Co. Vodafone said: ‘The partnership aims to leverage the companies’ combined scale, with a combined annual spend of more than €26 billion, complementary footprints and competencies to create value for customers through savings, deeper partner relationships and enhanced supply chain resilience.’ Telenor and Vodafone serve over 550 million customers across 23 countries. Thomas Skjelbred, chief procurement officer & chief executive officer for Telenor Procurement said: ‘This partnership will further strengthen Telenor’s competitiveness, ultimately increasing value for our internal operations, associated companies, external customers, and shareholders. Collaborating with Vodafone, we will expand our reach, address common challenges, and navigate a reshaped global supplier landscape driven by ongoing geopolitical and technological shifts.’ Vodafone shares were 0.4% higher at 86.46 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
