Earnz shares up as wins £1.2 million Warm Homes contract in Bradford

ALN

Earnz PLC on Monday said it has secured a contract with sustainable regeneration specialist Equans, supported by funding from Bradford City Council.

The Cheltenham, England-based energy services company focused on decarbonisation said the one-year contract, worth £1.2 million, was for the supply and installation of insulation, ventilation upgrades and renewable energy solutions to 92 privately owned homes in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Shares in Earnz were up 11% at 6.19 pence in London on Monday around midday. The stock remains down 16% over the past year.

The contract was awarded on the back of a £7.1 million ’Warm Homes’ local authority grant from Bradford City council to improve the efficiency of privately owned homes in the city.

Further phases of the initial contract are expected to follow over the next two years, with a maximum value of £7.1 million.

‘We are delighted to have secured such a significant contract,’ said Earnz Chief Executive Officer Peter Smith. ‘Working for Equans and Bradford City Council, we will be helping residents make their homes cheaper to heat, healthier to live in and lower in carbon emissions. We will also be supporting the local community with employment opportunities.’

In light of the contract win, Earnz has set up a new Yorkshire-based subsidiary, Warm Low Living Ltd, which will work in partnership with subsidiary A&D Carbon Solutions Ltd to deliver the project.
