Amaroq Ltd on Tuesday said operations were ahead of schedule at its flagship Nalunaq gold mine, with mineral assays from the site pending ahead of a temporary shutdown. The Toronto-based mining company with gold and strategic mineral assets in Greenland noted ‘steady improvements’ during the third quarter, as its operations ramped up with a double-shift pattern. Nalunaq gold production had reached around 5,000 ounces as of Tuesday, in line with revised full-year guidance. The firm in August lowered its full-year target to 5,000 ounces, from the previous guide range of 5,000 to 20,000 ounces, due to a temporary shutdown for construction. Amaroq now expects to publish updated guidance once the annual shutdown period is confirmed, around the release of third-quarter results on November 14. The firm remains ‘on track’ to reach nameplate throughput of 300 tonnes per day by the end of the year, it said. It has scheduled a four-week shutdown at Nalunaq to begin on Monday to carry out commissioning activities and complete the majority of phase one civil works. In phase two of construction, it will install a flotation circuit, piping, electrics and equipment. The remaining construction work is expected to take place inside the plant, starting up again in December after the shutdown, and continuing until the end of the first quarter of 2026. ‘Satellite gold exploration around Nalunaq, along with copper and critical metals programmes, has been completed, with assays pending,’ the company added. Amaroq shares were up 1.5% at 89.96 pence each on Thursday morning in London. Copyright 2025 Alliance News Ltd. All Rights Reserved.
