Eco Buildings Group PLC said on Tuesday it has signed a seven-year agreement to manufacture and supply 20,000 homes under the Chilean government’s flagship social housing programme. The London-based modular construction business said the contract will generate €420 million over the seven years, with the payment structure governed by Chile’s Ministry of Housing administrative procedures framework. Shares in Eco Buildings jumped 69% to 21.56 pence on Tuesday morning in London. The company said the first tranche of 607 homes has been designated to the beneficiary families. Eco Buildings expects these homes, which are fully costed by a 50% deposit of €12.8 million, to be delivered over the course of 2026. By the seventh year of the contract, Eco Buildings expects it will deliver up to 5,000 homes per year. The business said it will deploy a new manufacturing line in Chile with factory installation planned for the second-quarter of financial 2026. Eco Buildings said it initiated the ‘rigorous’ housing approval process in Chile in July 2023 and has now achieved full building certification. Eco Buildings said the certification obtained in Chile is recognised regionally, which it says provides an opportunity ‘for expansion into neighbouring countries with lower regulatory barriers.’ As a result of the company’s full certification and the Chilean government’s long-term programme to target 250,000 homes nationwide, Eco Buildings said it ‘is well positioned to become a long-term partner in addressing Chile’s social housing deficit’. Executive Vice-Chair Etrur Albani said: ‘Securing our first project in Latin America represents an important milestone for Eco Buildings and demonstrates the scalability of our revolutionary technology across new markets. Chile provides a strong regulatory framework and a strategic entry point into the wider region. ‘Our focus is on delivering high-quality, sustainable and affordable housing through an efficient, industrialised approach. We believe our technology can support governments and developers in accelerating housing delivery across Latin America in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible way.’ Copyright 2025 Alliance News Ltd.
