Moonpig poaches new CEO Catherine Faiers from Auto Trader

ALN

Auto Trader PLC on Friday said its Chief Operating Officer Catherine Faiers is stepping down, as Moonpig PLC appointed her its new chief executive.

Manchester, England-based Auto Trader is listed on the FTSE100 and operates the UK’s largest online automotive marketplace. It noted that Maiers was leaving for a CEO role at ‘another listed UK company.’

Meanwhile FTSE250 constituent Moonpig, a London-based online greeting card and gifting company, announced that Catherine Faiers will take over from Nickel Raithatha, who announced plans to step down as CEO back in June.

Auto Trader shares fell 3.3% to 782.00 on Friday morning in London, while Moonpig rose 0.5% to 217.00p.

Neither company has confirmed timing for the planned management reshuffle, though Auto Trader and Moonpig will update on leaving dates for Faiers and Raithatha respectively ‘in due course’.

Prior to joining Auto Trader, Faiers was COO at Addison Lee Ltd, corporate development director at Trainline PLC and a director of the former Corporate Finance arm of Close Brothers Group PLC. The Corporate Finance business has since been sold and renamed DC Advisory.

Auto Trader CEO Nathan Coe commented: ‘Catherine has been instrumental to many of the changes we have made in the business and will be missed. However, we are in the fortunate position to have a depth of talent at Autotrader enabling us to continue with our existing strategy and plans without interruption.’

Kate Swann, non-executive chair of Moonpig, noted its incoming CEO’s ‘experience in e-commerce and public companies, with a proven track record of leading customer-focused digital, data, and technology transformations.’

‘The board is pleased to have attracted someone of Catherine’s calibre to lead Moonpig Group, which reflects the strength and potential of our business,’ Swann added.
