Mycelx wins $3.9 million water treatment project in US Permian Basin

ALN

Mycelx Technologies Corp on Monday said it has secured a $3.9 million water treatment project in the US Permian Basin, expanding its presence in the world’s ‘most active’ oil-producing region.

The Georgia, US-based clean water and air technology firm said the system will be owned and operated by a major midstream operator that provides water management services to oil producers in the Permian.

Mycelx added that it remains in advanced discussions for several additional projects in the region.

Under the new contract, Mycelx will supply its patented REGEN system, an advanced treatment technology designed to manage large volumes of produced water more efficiently.

The installation will take place at one of the operator’s water handling facilities, helping address challenges linked to rising water-to-oil ratios and induced seismicity caused by pressurised disposal well usage.

The project is expected to be delivered in 2026.

Chief Executive Connie Mixon said: ‘We are delighted to have been selected by a leading midstream operator in the US Permian Basin for this significant project, which further validates the strength and differentiation of our REGEN technology.

‘This award represents an important milestone in expanding our presence in the most active energy region in the world and demonstrates the industry’s increasing confidence in Mycelx’s proven ability to solve complex produced water challenges.’

The company also highlighted recent international momentum following its presentation at the Middle East Produced Water Oilfield Symposium in Qatar, where it shared a case study on its REGEN Retrofit Package deployed at Petroleum Development Oman’s enhanced oil recovery field.

Shares in Mycelx Technologies were up 5.5% at 26.90 pence in London on Monday morning.
