Quantum Data Energy PLC on Tuesday said it has strengthened its 1 gigawatt AI datacentre power strategy through a new partnership with global technology company Navon World. The London-listed power infrastructure developer said Navon will join its existing collaboration with Carbon Zero Markets Ltd to jointly design, build and operate AI datacentre campuses across the UK and internationally. Shares in Quantum Data Energy were up 9.5% at 18.40 pence in London on Tuesday afternoon. Each company will bring specialised expertise in energy, sustainability and technology to the partnership. Quantum said the campuses will be developed modularly in 25- to 50-megawatt blocks to enable faster delivery and scalability. One of the first targeted sites will be near Bristol, which has been identified as an emerging national hub for AI and digital innovation. Bristol was recently named the UK’s AI capital by Lloyds Banking Group PLC and is home to the Isambard AI supercomputer, described by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority as a centrepiece of the country’s first AI ‘supercluster.’ Quantum added that it has also been approached by ‘one of the UK’s largest residential property developers’. The company is in talks with the developer both to supply power resilience solutions for residential projects and to form a joint venture to identify suitable real estate for datacentre construction. Chief Executive Pieter Krugel said: ‘We are thrilled with the execution of the partnership agreement with Navon World, which shows again that Quantum is able to attract quality business partners to unlock and expedite value creation, and bolsters our plans to deliver up to 1 GW of AI datacentre-power campuses.’ He added that Quantum is ‘in advanced discussions regarding [its] first datacentre-power project,’ calling it a key milestone for the company’s expansion strategy. Navon World, its new partner, operates datacentre infrastructure for high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and crypto mining globally.
