Jet2 to take off from Gatwick Airport from March 2026

ALN

Jet2 PLC on Wednesday announced it will begin scheduled flights from London Gatwick Airport for the first time in late March 2026, expanding its UK base network to 14.

The Leeds-based provider of package holidays and flights secured slots for six aircraft, including five Airbus A321neos to be based at Gatwick, aiming to extend its service-led holiday offering to around 15 million potential customers in the South of England.

The company said Gatwick has become ‘the UK’s leading airport for beach holidays and city breaks, with more short and mid-haul beach holiday departures than any other UK airport.’

Jet2 said the expansion marks a ‘transformational next step’ in its growth strategy, with operations expected to turn profitable by financial 2029, following initial setup and promotional costs.

Chief Executive Officer Steve Heapy said: ‘Today’s announcement represents an incredibly exciting moment for Jet2. For many years, our ambition has been to provide our differentiated, service led, end-to-end product offering from London Gatwick, and we see this as a once in a generation opportunity to accelerate our growth from the UK’s largest beach and city leisure destination airport.’

Jet2 shares were 0.7% lower at 1,307.00 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
