DIRECTOR DEALINGS: B&M CEO buys £100,000 in shares after profit fall

The following is a round-up of share dealings by London-listed company directors and managers announced this week and not separately reported by Alliance News:

B&M European Value Retail SA - Luxembourg-based variety goods store chain in the UK and France - Chief Executive Officer Tjeerd Jegen buys 63,100 shares at £1.61 and £1.58, worth £100,603, on Friday last week and Monday this week. On Thursday last week, B&M cut its interim dividend by a third to 3.5 pence from 5.3p, as pretax profit plunged 56% to £75 million in the 26 weeks to September 27 from £169 million the year prior.

J Sainsbury PLC - London-based supermarket chain - Patrick Dunne, chief property & procurement officer and managing director of Smart Charge electric vehicle charging network, sells 155,958 shares at £3.21, worth £500,001, on Friday last week.

Bridgepoint Group PLC - Chief Financial Officer Ruth Prior buys 179,000 shares via Ballywillan Services Ltd at £2.78, worth £497,996. Non-Executive Director Cyrus Taraporevala buys 100,000 shares at £2.84, worth £283,800. Both on Friday last week.

Crystal Amber Fund Ltd - activist fund investing in small and mid-cap UK equities - Crystal Amber Asset Management (Guernsey) Ltd, the fund’s asset manager, sells 458,333 shares at £1.44, worth £660,000, on Friday. It continues to hold 2.2 million shares, a 3.6% stake. On Friday, Crystal Amber Fund said Crystal Amber Asset Management resigned as investment manager, and the fund received a proposal for management and a new strategy from Tarncourt Capital Ltd, which also offered to buy 2.8 million shares in the fund from Saba Capital Management LP.

3i Group PLC - London-based private equity investor - Wilco Jiskoot, an associate of Non-Executive Director Alexandra Schaapveld, buys 7,800 shares at £33.25, worth £259,350, on Tuesday. 3i directors and managers have bought a total of £4 million in shares since Thursday last week.

Vertu Motors PLC - Gateshead, England-based automobile retailer - Operations Director Stephen Gould exercises options for 236,220 shares and sells all of them at 63.00p, worth £148,819, on Tuesday.

Kainos Group PLC - Nicholas Bishop, an associate of Non-Executive Chair Rosaleen Blair, buys 10,000 shares at average £9.61, worth £96,099, on Friday. The shares are Blair’s only interest in Kainos, having taken the chair in September last year.

Genuit Group PLC - Leeds, England-based provider of water, climate and ventilation systems for buildings and infrastructure - Chair Kevin Boyd buys 20,000 shares at £3.12, worth £62,349. Other Genuit executives and directors buy 18,600 shares in total. All on Monday. Earlier that day, Genuit lowered its full-year expectations for underlying operating profit to range from £92 million to £95 million, compared with £95 million to £99 million previously, citing the impact of uncertainty ahead of next week’s UK government budget.
