European budget carriers Ryanair Holdings PLC and Wizz Air Holdings PLC on Tuesday reported annual increases in passenger traffic last month, while load factor was stable for Ryanair but down slightly for Wizz Air.

Dublin-based Ryanair said it carried 13.8 million passengers in November, up 6.2% from 13.0 million a year before. Ryanair operated 78,000 flights last month with a load factor of 92%, unchanged from November 2024.

On a rolling 12-month basis, Ryanair carried 205.7 million passengers, up 5.0% from 196.1 million a year before. Load factor was steady at 94%.

Budapest-based Wizz Air said it carried 5.3 million passengers in November, up 8.6% from 4.8 million a year before. Wizz operated capacity of 5.8 million seats last month, up 9.5% from 5.3 million a year before, so load factor slipped to 90.7% from 91.5%.

On a rolling 12-month basis, however, Wizz Air’s load factor improved to 91.1% from 90.3%. It carried 67.8 million passengers, up 8.3% from 62.6 million in the prior 12-month period.

Wizz Air noted that it took delivery of its 250th aircraft this past Friday. It still has outstanding orders for 260 A321neo aircraft from Airbus SE. Wizz also said CO2 emission per passenger-kilometre improved by 3.9% year-on-year in November to 49.5 grammes.

Ryanair shares were down 0.2% to €27.95 in Frankfurt early Tuesday. Wizz Air shares were up 0.2% to 1,167.00 pence in London.
