1Spatial wins contract to support National Underground Asset Register

ALN

1Spatial PLC on Friday said it won a deal from mapping agency Ordnance Survey Ltd for the next stage of a ‘major national project’.

1Spatial, a Cambridge, England-based master location data management firm, said the project is the National Underground Asset Register [NUAR] Data Transformation & Ingestion Service, which looks to build a digital map of underground pipes and cables.

1Spatial said the NUAR programme is a government digital service initiative operated by Ordnance survey, to build a single digital map of underground pipes and cables, revolutionising how sectors install, maintain, operate and repair buried infrastructure in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

‘The delivery of the NUAR DT&I service, in partnership with Ordnance Survey Ltd, has a contract value to 1Spatial of £4.2 million incorporating licence revenue of £1.5 million,’ 1Spatial said.

The contract covers an initial two-year term with an option to extend for a further three years.

1Spatial Chief Executive Officer Claire Milverton said: ‘We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Ordnance Survey on this nationally significant project, validating the strength of our product offering. The renewal and upgrade of our role highlight our position as a trusted partner in delivering innovative geospatial solutions that create long-term value for government, industry and the public.’

1Spatial shares rose 4.4% to 47.00 pence each on Friday afternoon in London.
