AIM WINNERS & LOSERS: Wishbone Gold shines as year ends

AIM - WINNERS

Wishbone Gold PLC, up 14% at 75.00 pence, 12-month range 0.090p-75.00p. Shares spike to a 52-week high as the year ends, taking its 2025 gain to close to four-fold. The gold explorer has projects in Australia.

Westminster Group PLC, up 8.6% at 0.76p, 12-month range 0.50p-2.95p. Shares recover after sinking 26% on Tuesday. The Banbury, Oxfordshire-based security and technology services company said Tuesday it was in ‘advanced discussions’ for a ‘significant investment’ by a strategic investor that operates in Africa and the Middle East. The unnamed company also has indicated interest in collaborating with Westminster on business opportunities. ‘The board anticipates the regional expertise that the potential investor has to be of considerable benefit as opportunities within the territories continue to develop,’ Westminster said. The company also is in the ‘final stages of negotiating a significant offshore banking facility for project financing’. Shares in the company are to be suspended from Friday for late results.

AIM - LOSERS

Sylvania Platinum Ltd, down 3.9% at 103.75p, 12-month range 40.00p-111.00p. The stock has more than doubled this year, but returns some progress on Wednesday amid a platinum price decline. The price of the commodity fell to $2,031.30 an ounce Wednesday morning, from a high of $2,248.50 on Tuesday. Sylvania Platinum operates in South Africa.
