Capricorn Energy shares rise as 2025 production beats view

ALN

Capricorn Energy PLC on Monday said its annual production beat guidance, and it added that it has received more funds from the Egyptian General Petroleum Corp.

Capricorn Energy shares were up 6.7% to 197.43 pence in London on Monday morning.

The firm, with onshore assets in Egypt, said working interest production averaged 20,175 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2025. Capricorn back in October said it expected production at the 19,000 mid-point of a 17,000-21,000 range.

‘The 2025 exit rate was 21,003 boepd with recent strong production performance driven by new development wells drilled since July 2025 and a waterflood programme in the Badr El Din field area. Notably, gas performance since October has been enhanced by the drilling of BED15-31 which has produced strongly from the Lower Bahariya formation and offers the potential for follow-up wells that will be prioritised in early 2026,’ Capricorn said.

The company said it received $43 million from Egyptian General Petroleum late last month. It takes the total sum received by Capricorn since the middle of last year to $156 million. The accounts receivable position is the lowest since 2022, at around $84 million, when excluding expected credit loss adjustments.
