Ocado Group PLC is planning to eliminate as many as 1,000 jobs to save cost, after setbacks for the online grocer’s technology arm, the Sunday Times reported. The redundancies would affect about 5% of Ocado’s global headcount, the Times said. One source told the newspaper the announcement could come as soon as this month and said the majority of cuts will be at Ocado’s head office in Hatfield, England. Ocado publishes its 2025 results on February 26. Late last month, Ocado said its Canadian partner Sobeys Inc has decided to close one of its three Ocado-powered customer fulfilment centres, due to a slower-than-expected rate of market growth in Alberta province. Ocado shares were up 0.4% to 232.30 pence on Monday morning in London. The stock is down 15% in the past month. Copyright 2026 Alliance News Ltd. All Rights Reserved.
