Alfa Financial poaches new CFO Andrew Dickson from Cerillion

ALN

Alfa Financial Software Holdings PLC on Thursday said it has hired Cerillion PLC’s Andrew Dickson as its new financial chief.

Both firms are London-based software providers. FTSE 250-listed Alfa serves the motor finance sector, and Cerillion supports billing, charging and customer relationship management.

Alfa shares fell 0.6% to 189.07 pence around noon on Thursday in London, giving it a market capitalisation of £559.5 million.

Shares in Cerillion were up 0.6% to 1,620.00p for a market cap of £478.5 million.

Dickson, an alumnus of Smiths Group PLC and current chief financial officer at Cerillion, will join Alfa as CFO designate on July 6. He replaces outgoing CFO Duncan Macgrath on the executive board on September 16.

Macgrath in December had shared plans to retire. He will remain available to Alfa until the end of the year ‘to ensure a smooth handover’, the company said.

Alfa Chief Executive Andrew Denton said Dickson ‘joins Alfa at an exciting time and his broad financial knowledge and experience will help support our growth ambitions.’

Cerillion named Dickson’s successor last month, announcing that it was poaching essensys PLC CFO Greg Price. At the time, Cerillion said Dickson was stepping down on March 1 to ‘pursue new opportunities’, but would be available for a handover period, with Price assuming the role by May 1.
