The Generation Essentials Group on Monday said its Chinese spy thriller Scared Out grossed over $120 million at box offices during the first week. The movie, which has been able to count on the Chinese New Year holiday release window, ‘has generated substantial traction on social media’ according to the company, saying promotional content attracted over 10 billion views at a rate of over 550 million a day. TGE says Scare Out’s success allows it to position well and provide a solid foundation ‘for future growth on a global basis’ as other releases into 2027, such Raging Havoc and Dog Day Evening, are scheduled for release. TGE shares were untraded at $1.30 dollars each on Monday in London. They last sold for $1.05 on January 16. Copyright 2026 Alliance News Ltd. All Rights Reserved.
