One Health shares were up 5.2% to 245.16 pence each on Tuesday afternoon in London.

The Sheffield, England-based surgical procedures provider for the UK’s National Health Service said the project in Scunthorpe, England is on track to be delivered within a year from the start of construction and in line with its previous cost estimate between £8 million and £9 million.

‘The new surgical hub is expected to provide significant additional surgical operating capacity and has the potential to materially enhance the group’s revenue and profitability’, the company said, adding that the hub model is align with the government’s drive towards community-based hubs to free up capacity in NHS hospitals.

One Health’s Chief Executive Officer Adam Binns said: ‘We’re delighted to confirm that construction of our first site in Scunthorpe will start imminently, representing a significant milestone for the business.

‘This development reinforces our strategy to introduce surgical capacity in regions where there is no NHS or independent provider provision, and NHS patient demand is high.’
