Trainline shares buckle as Chief Executive Jody Ford signals departure

ALN

Trainline PLC on Wednesday said that Jody Ford intends to step down as chief executive officer after more than six years at the company.

The London-based digital rail and coach ticketing platform said Ford will continue to lead Trainline as CEO through the transition to new leadership.

A formal search process to find his successor has begun, the FTSE 250 listing added.

The news sent shares in Trainline down 6.5% to 190.00 pence in London on Wednesday, a four-year low.

Trainline Chair Brian McBride hailed Ford’s ‘outstanding contribution and leadership.’

‘Jody has built a world-class leadership team, who will continue to execute against our strategic priorities during this transition period and beyond,’ he added.

For his part, Ford said it is the ‘right time’ to handover to new leadership as Trainline ‘enters its next multi-year phase of growth.’

He pledged to work closely with the board to ensure a ‘smooth transition and position Trainline strongly for its next chapter.’

Trainline reaffirmed its previously-upgraded market guidance for financial 2026 and said it will provide more information at its trading update on March 12.
