Capital secures contract for waste services at AngloGold Ashanti mine

ALN

Capital Ltd on Wednesday reported a new contract for waste stripping services at AngloGold Ashanti PLC’s Sukari mine.

The London-based mining service provider will use equipment already onsite, and noted the contract term of 18 months.

It will start in the first quarter of 2026, using equipment which Capital already has onsite, with new equipment and trucks phased in during the second quarter.

Additionally, Capital has secured a five-year drilling contract at Canadian firm Montage Gold Corp’s Kone prospect in the Ivory Coast, with mobilisation slated for the second quarter. Capital’s MSALABS unit previously had booked a five-year deal as laboratory operator at Kone.

MSALABS also is providing commercial lab services at the Valentine project, which is run by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver, British Columbia-based miner. Capital said: ‘This contract will underpin the construction of a new commercial laboratory in Newfoundland utilising PhotonAssay technology, as well as providing sample preparation and multi-element analysis.’

The company noted on Wednesday that it has already begun construction of its second commercial lab in the Ivory Coast, and that it has received ‘several smaller contract extensions and additions’.

Capital shares rose 3.7% to 147.28 pence on Wednesday afternoon in London.
